Our Staff

It's true, we actually do have the best staff in Alberta, maybe in Canada!

We've put together some short bio's on them, so you can know them a little better. Come in and meet them, and ask them any questions you have (preferably pet related!)

Archie

Chief of Staff & Trouble Maker

Dr. Carla Schluchter, DVM

Carla has been practicing at Northside since graduating from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 1995 -- she's a co-owner of the clinic and has a standard poodle named Reggie and two cats -- Moe and Jimmy. Carla's newest addition is Beaumont (better known as Monty), her rambunctious standard poodle. She enjoys golfing, and water colour painting.

Dr. Kellie McCallum, DVM

Kellie graduated from the Veterinary Program at the University of Saskatchewan in 2009. She has decided to make Lethbridge her home with her dog Marley. In her spare time Kellie enjoys running, skiing, and hiking.

Dr. Vanessa Gruffydd, DVM

Originally from New Brunswick Vanessa has travelled a long way to call Lethbridge her new home! She graduated from the Veterinary Program at the University of Prince Edward Island in 2009. Vanessa is always on the go... she loves to play soccer and enjoys spending time with her cat Jersey.

Liz Madany, RAHT

Liz is our most experienced technician. She graduated from Olds College and has gathered valuable experience and developed her technical skills in the years following. Liz is the AHT or nurse that you're most likely to see during your pet's appointment.

Kathy Boyle, RAHT

Kathy graduated from Olds College in June 2004 and has been with us since. In her spare time she enjoys raising sheep at her acreage with her husband and spending time with her two dogs Tucker and Deke.

Val W., RAHT

Val graduated from NAIT in 1999, she gained valuable experience working in the central Alberta and Calgary area. She now lives in Lethbridge and enjoys spending time with her husband, 2 young children, cat Turbo, and beta fish Hitch. Val is very busy - she works at both our clinic and at Park Pet Hospital (our associate clinic).

Leanne Rose, RAHT

This is Leanne. She is a new Graduate from Olds college. We welcome her back to our clinic as a certified technician. More info soon to come!

Joanne Mueller, RAHT

Joanne graduated from Nait - Fairveiw Campus in 2008 and became a Registered Animal Health Technician. Growing up here her whole life, she is happy to call Lethbridge home. She has a few critters; a Papillon named Sofie whom she enjoys taking to ajility. Along with 3 cats; a domestic short hair named Sandy, a Singapora named Skye and a Devon Rex named Muggles. As you could guess she holds a specail place in her heart for cats. Joanne enjoys working with behavioural cases and new advancements in Veterinary medicine. We are happy to welcome Joanne to our team!

Jaime Dumont, Office Supervisor

Joining our team as a receptionist in 2007 Jaime is now our office supervisor. When not at the clinic she enjoys spending time with her husband, cat, and her large family. Some of Jaime's many hobbies include cross-stitching, crocheting, camping, geocaching, and bowling.

Toni Hampton, Receptionist

Toni is a busy girl -- she's worked at Northside since 2001 as a receptionist. She loves her dogs, her cats, and spending time with her daughter Darby!

Emily Cole, VHA

Emily graduated from The Center for Arts and Technology in Kelowna, BC in 2010 with her Certification as a Veterinary Hospital Assistant. Coming back home to Alberta she enjoys spending time with family and friends and loves working with animals. Another crazy cat lady in the making (not as crazy as Joanne), she has 2 cats at home, Zoey and Chili. Her most recent addition is Bender, a golden retreiver puppy. Enjoying the outdoors Emily is full of energy and is eager to move forward in the veterinary industry.

Colleen Black, VMA

Colleen graduated from NAIT in May 2005 after taking the veterinary medical assistant program. She thoroughly enjoys the company of her two dogs Maddi and Piper. Her hobbies are dancing, and she is proficient at 4 musical instruments -- talented girl. Colleen is now nursing at the Chinook Regional Hospital, but will continue working at northside part time.

Christine Hankey, Bookkeeper

Christine is our bookkeeper - she's our favourite, as she issues our paychecks! Christine is married to Tim, has two daughters and a son, a dog, and a cat in her busy house! In her spare time, she enjoys biking, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren.
